We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the surgical team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Setup: Prepare for surgeon-specific operative and invasive procedures, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient setup of instruments, equipment, and suture. Maintain a sterile environment and ensure the availability of necessary resources.
- Scrubbing and Assisting: Scrub on simple to complex procedures for various specialties, demonstrating proficiency in surgical techniques and adapting to the surgeon's style and preferences. Anticipate and provide for the needs of the surgical team, ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the surgical team, circulating RN, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination and execution of procedures. Collaborate with the surgeon to adjust plans as needed and provide timely and accurate information.
- Quality and Safety: Participate in quality improvement efforts and promote a positive work environment. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and well-being, adhering to hospital policies and protocols.
- Education and Certification: Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion in Surgical Technology from an accredited program. Certified Surgical Tech upon hire.
- Skills and Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge, multicultural sensitivity, critical thinking skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing situations, and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.
