Lifeguard

Bucknell University's Department of Athletics and Recreation is seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our students, faculty, and staff while using our swimming pools.

• Provide emergency care and respond to aquatic emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct regular pool inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
• Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize the risk of injury or illness to pool users.
• Collaborate with pool staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all pool users.

• Current American Red Cross certification in Lifesaving, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid.
• Successful completion of a skills test, including swimming 300 yards continuously using breaststroke and front crawl, treading water for 2 minutes, completing a timed event in 1 minute 40 seconds, and retrieving a diving brick from the bottom of the pool.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
