Overview
This position as a Registered Nurse is integral to the mission of Northern Arizona Healthcare. The RN will be responsible for coordinating comprehensive patient care through direct involvement, education, and discharge planning for patients and their families. This role encompasses conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing nursing challenges, identifying desired outcomes, and planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of care. Additionally, the RN will provide leadership to support staff, serving as a team leader, mentor, and active participant in the healthcare team while upholding professional standards and ethical practices.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assess patients' needs and conditions by gathering pertinent health information.
- Create personalized care plans and execute them effectively.
- Track patient progress and modify care plans as needed.
- Ensure high-quality and safe patient care, respecting privacy and treating all individuals with dignity.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and assist in various medical procedures.
Education
- Foster a learning environment grounded in evidence-based practices and research.
- Commit to personal growth, engage with colleagues and students professionally, and take part in educational initiatives.
- Guide and educate fellow staff and students.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow regulatory and organizational standards, hospital policies, and safety measures.
- Remain informed and comply with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Maintain current certifications and licenses.
- Complete required training and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report safety incidents promptly to ensure a secure work environment.
Qualifications
Education
- An Associate Degree in Nursing is mandatory.
- New hires are required to enroll in a BSN program within one year and complete it within five years.
Certification and Licensure
- An active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or a valid compact license is essential.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification is required.
Experience
- Prior experience in a circulating role is preferred.
Call Availability: Must be capable of responding within 20 minutes.
