MRA Recruiting Services is collaborating with a well-established company looking for an Electrical Designer/Technician to manage the design, development, quality, and reliability of electrical designs and programming for various projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside mechanical engineers to seamlessly integrate electrical components into overall designs.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with standards and customer expectations.
  • Design, implement, and enhance electrical instruments, equipment, or systems while updating engineering standards to align with current or new software.
  • Revise standard systems to boost quality and productivity while minimizing costs.
  • Initiate the development of a comprehensive database of drawings using Solidworks.
  • Interpret customer specifications and sales agreements effectively.
  • Maintain a parametric bill of materials for system integration with material management and planning software.
  • Prepare specifications for the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Serve as a technical resource for product support, assisting customers, service personnel, and sales teams in resolving issues.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Convert frequently used parts and drawings to Solidworks format.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality challenges, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary, with responsibilities extending beyond those listed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Preferred knowledge in circuit design.
  • Experience with TIA Portal or RS Logix is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 and UL 508A standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to evaluate information and implement effective solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches to problems.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proven time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.

Technical Proficiencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, ERP systems, and object-oriented development software.
  • Required experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of applicable experience. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced panel builder looking to transition into design work.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
  • Capability to climb ladders up to 15 feet as needed.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height, kneel, or crouch for short durations.
