Job Title: Expert Wound Care SpecialistSalary Range: $119,000 - $132,000 per year, depending on experience
Job DescriptionAbout the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team as an Expert Wound Care Specialist. This exciting opportunity will allow you to utilize your skills and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of wound care and/or surgical experience, with a strong background in skin and wound care management. A proven track record of providing high-quality patient care, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams
- Travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls, in an assigned region
- Provide the highest quality skin and wound care services to patients
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies to assess change to patients' health care needs
- Perform bedside wound care skills including: wound assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures
- Track the progress of wound healing and document timely in UWH's own wound care EMR
- Develop a treatment plan for skin and wound conditions based on the individual needs of each patient, and UWH's Clinical Practice Guidelines
- Collaborate virtually with our medical leadership including board certified physicians and surgeons specializing in wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease
Requirements
- This fast-paced position requires standing for extended amounts of time
- Driving You must have reliable transportation; valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP, ARNP, APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) licensed in working state
- Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people through both verbal and written communication lines
