Banquet Server

Overview:

The Banquet Server will provide exceptional service to guests in a friendly and welcoming environment. This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 to $20.00 and benefits, including a 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

Responsibilities:

• Read and understand Banquet Event Orders.
• Carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
• Provide high-level service to guests for all events, consistent with OVG standards.
• Initiate and maintain friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring all needs are anticipated and met.
• Setup and maintain food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building, consistent with OVG standards.
• Maintain and inventory food and beverage stations.
• Maintain all event areas and front-of-house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner.
• Participate in setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
• Work independently during slower times.
• Perform safe work by providing a safe and clean work environment.
• Have high social contact, working closely with staff and dealing with patrons.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
• Be detail-oriented to ensure accurate and complete work.
• Multitask.
• Handle and move objects.
• Have a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.
• Read and communicate effectively in English.
• Have basic arithmetic skills.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
• Lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 30 lbs. and 15 lbs. often.
• Be punctual with consistent attendance.
• Respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age to serve alcoholic drinks.
