Role Summary:
The EEC Certified Childcare Lead Teacher/Instructor is essential in creating a secure, nurturing, and educational atmosphere for young children within our organization. This role involves collaborating with fellow educators to design and execute developmentally suitable lesson plans, oversee children's activities, and ensure adherence to state licensing standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the unique needs and interests of each child.
- Establish a safe, nurturing, and stimulating educational environment that promotes children's physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
- Provide appropriate guidance and support to children, encouraging positive behavior and social skills.
- Regularly observe and assess children's developmental progress, maintaining accurate documentation of observations.
- Effectively communicate with parents, providing timely updates regarding their child's progress and milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and organize classroom activities, field trips, and special events.
- Supervise children during both indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment, including the arrangement of equipment and materials.
- Comply with all licensing regulations, policies, and procedures established by the relevant authorities.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and new methodologies in early childhood education.
- Assist in preparing materials and resources necessary for daily activities and curriculum implementation.
- Serve as a positive role model for children and colleagues, fostering a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- EEC Lead Teacher certification or EEC Teacher certification in a group care setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with children in an educational or childcare environment, ideally as a Lead Teacher or Teacher.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and children from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with licensing regulations and a commitment to compliance.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and sit on the floor or at child-sized furniture for extended periods.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to fostering their growth and development.
