Job Title: Vitamin/Body Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vitamin/Body Care Assistant to join our team at Natural Grocers. As a key member of our store team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success and profitability of our vitamin and body care departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive customer experience daily.
  • Assist the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Help manage margin, drive sales, and optimize department profitability.
  • Ensure all in-stock products meet company standards.
  • Offer and follow up on special orders.
  • Merchandise shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
  • Assist in managing and participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
  • Assist in training and monitoring of department personnel.
  • Conduct active and passive demos.
  • Support store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Report (DSR) and cash handling.
  • Handle register functions, including backup cashiering and customer returns.
  • Maintain the safety and security of customers and employees.
  • Answer customer questions and provide product information.
  • Continually increase product knowledge.
  • Use SAP and inventory management software as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred.
  • 1 year of experience supervising others preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in vitamins/supplements preferred.
  • Ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain compliance.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through.
  • Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.

Physical Capabilities and Environmental Demands:

Must have the ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs.
