We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Care Technician to join our team at the City of Mission Viejo. As an Animal Care Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care and service to our community's animals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care and maintenance of animals in our facilities, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health and well-being.
• Assist with animal adoptions, including preparing animals for adoption and providing information to potential adopters.
• Develop and implement enrichment programs to promote the physical and emotional well-being of animals in our care.
• Collaborate with other animal care staff to ensure the highest level of animal care and service.
• Provide excellent customer service to the public, including responding to inquiries and providing information about our animal care services.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in animal science, biology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in animal care, preferably in a shelter or rescue setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
