This is an exciting opportunity to join the Comal Independent School District as a Campus Health Services Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students and staff, promoting health education and preventive practices, and collaborating with other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure compliance with state regulations.

About the Role

">

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate nurse with experience in pediatrics or family health to fill this critical position. As a Campus Health Services Coordinator, you will provide direct care to students, serve as a health advocate, and administer medications according to district policies. You will also participate in the development of campus health education curriculum, educate faculty and staff on health-related topics, and collaborate with other professionals to assess student medical needs and make referrals as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Nursing Services: Provide direct care to students, serve as a health advocate, administer medications, and provide medical treatments and procedures according to physician orders and parent authorization.">
  • Instruction: Participate in the development of campus health education curriculum, educate faculty and staff on health-related topics, and provide health counseling and instruction to individual students.">
  • Consultation: Serve as a health liaison between school, physicians, parents, and community, assess student medical needs, and make referrals as necessary.">
  • Administration: Review and evaluate immunization records, supervise and train nurse aides and LVNs, compile and maintain records, and report potential health and safety hazards.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a graduate degree in nursing, a valid registered nurse license, and certification in CPR and vision/hearing screening. You should also have at least two years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or family health. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.
