Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Inspector to join our team at the Arkansas Department of Commerce. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in housing and nuisance codes, who can ensure compliance with building regulations.

Salary: $41,652 - $59,090 per year (or $20.03 - 28.41 per hour)

About the Role:

  • Inspect buildings and construction sites within city limits to ensure adherence to building codes and regulations.
  • Meet with contractors and builders to discuss plans and address any issues related to building codes.
  • Interpret ordinances, zoning laws, and construction codes to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 12-18 months of related experience preferred.
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license required.
  • Licenses in plumbing inspection, HVAC inspection, and electrician/inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
