Position Overview

The Night Operations Supervisor is tasked with leading and guiding club merchandising efforts, ensuring that products are available for sale in adequate quantities throughout the store, while delivering a positive service experience to our members. This role also involves overseeing and directing the activities of the merchandising department team members and acting as a key holder for the club.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Club Manager to build effective merchandising teams through selection, training, performance management, coaching, and discipline as necessary.
  • Lead the merchandising team to manage product displays and signage.
  • Participate in the onboarding process for new team members.
  • Communicate with management regarding staffing levels and team performance.
  • Ensure proper product display and signage, maintaining adequate stock levels throughout the store.
  • Execute company directives related to merchandising, resets, and sales initiatives within designated timeframes.
  • Recommend merchandising changes to boost sales.
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of the building and equipment.
  • Serve as the designated forklift trainer for the club, operating the forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to safety and sanitation protocols, addressing any safety concerns promptly.
  • Responsible for cash office operations.
  • Uphold all club policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a crucial aspect of this role.

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Email) are required.
  • A high school diploma, college degree, or relevant experience in big box wholesale, retail, grocery, and/or management is preferred.
  • Forklift operation certification is required.
  • Prior experience in forklift operation and merchandising is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of required training and certification processes is necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team supervision, training, and driving results.
  • Open availability for shifts is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Most of the time will be spent standing and moving continuously on hard surfaces, with frequent need to position oneself to examine merchandise.
  • May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds and moving heavier or awkward items with assistance.
  • Work environment may include exposure to moving machinery and loud equipment, requiring effective communication.
  • Occasional exposure to temperature extremes in freezer or cooler units, as well as company-approved chemicals and cleaning agents.

In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we consider a variety of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position starts at $56,250.00.
