Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Amentum in Oak Ridge, TN. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in overseeing contractor daily work activity for a Department of Energy project. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee contractor daily work activity for a Department of Energy project
  • Perform design calculations and evaluations as needed for the project
  • Ensure quality, schedule, and cost compliance
  • Participate in planning, field oversight, inspections, scheduling, general design, design change disposition, and procurement tasks
  • Collaborate with the Contract Manager, Project Controls Manager, Senior Engineer(s), and Client personnel
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Eligibility to obtain a Professional Engineering registration within six years
  • Current EIT or PE is highly desired
  • Working knowledge of computer software systems for processing Submittals, including Microsoft Office suite and Databases
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Nuclear project experience
  • Experience with Industrial or DOE projects
  • NQA-1 experience
  • Knowledge of Engineering and construction practices, and the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and technical submittals for compliance
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional travel and work near construction job site equipment. The work location for this position is Oak Ridge, TN.
