Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Estimator to join our team at Delta Staffing. As an MEP Estimator, you will play a critical role in the success of our clients' projects by providing accurate and detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Review proposal specifications and drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and necessary estimate components.
  • Scope Development: Prepare detailed MEP scopes of work and backup documentation for review.
  • Proposal Solicitation: Solicit project-specific proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating them for completeness and competitiveness.
  • Value Engineering: Develop options and recommend the best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or material availability.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain positive and ethical relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Contract Support: Assist Operations with awarded contracts and projects as needed, which may include estimating and pricing change orders and resolving any contractual issues.
  • Project Tracking: Track and support operations with awarded contracts and projects, including estimating and pricing extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the Proposal Coordinator to develop complete professional proposals, including schedules, project narratives, organizational charts, and other required information.
  • Conceptual Proposals: Create comprehensive conceptual proposals to support business development and client retention.
  • Subcontract Negotiation: Negotiate and issue subcontracts.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of estimating experience is required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or other scheduling systems. Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and/or MC2 type software is preferred.
