About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Talent Development Specialist to join our team at BCforward. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a challenging role and make a meaningful impact in our organization.

Job Summary

The Talent Development Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and documenting training curricula across the site to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements. This includes building and developing organizational excellence in learning and development, leveraging both proven and innovative methods to achieve operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that meets operational and EHS needs for a high-performing, motivated, and safe workforce.
  • Deliver classroom trainings for departments/individuals when needed, focusing on life-critical site processes and policies.
  • Customize Client standard EHS Training tailored to NA APV.
  • Provide general oversight and coordination of RCMS training performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with business unit EHS Managers and site managers to develop safety and training programs that exceed EHS expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify learning and development needs for individuals and teams across the organization, then develop and execute programs to meet those needs.
  • Develop a robust on-the-job (OJT) training program that enables safety excellence, in-depth understanding, and highly reliable operations.
  • Ensure training associated with site, process, and organizational changes is completed and recorded per client Management of Change standards.
  • Assess and measure the effectiveness of all training programs across the site and make adjustments where necessary.
  • Develop a system of routine checks to ensure training practices and associated records are maintained in sound condition.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field and three years of experience; or a combination of high school diploma and seven years of relevant experience.
  • Passion for building a strong training program devoted to a successful EHS and safety culture.
  • Strong desire to build, grow, and develop operational capability through teaching and team building.
  • Experience in 3rd party, external auditing.
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement in the critical success areas of EHS&S and OJT training development.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence people at all levels in the organization and other external contacts that allows for achievement of substantial results through others.
  • Track record for creating continuous improvements in EHS, process safety, and culture.
  • Knowledge of using and developing training within Learning Management Systems.

Salary Range

$85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
