Job Summary:

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at UMass Amherst is seeking a full-time Lecturer for the Public Health Sciences program. This position involves teaching courses primarily in the undergraduate BS in Public Health Sciences program and may include teaching courses in the MPH program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in the undergraduate BS in Public Health Sciences program and potentially in the MPH program.
  • Join one of the Public Health Sciences Departments (Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Health Promotion and Policy, or Environmental Health Sciences) within the School of Public Health & Health Sciences.
  • Participate in department committees and school-wide service.
  • Serve on the Undergraduate Curriculum Advisory Board for the undergraduate Public Health Sciences program.

Requirements:

  • PhD Degree in Public Health, any sub-discipline of Public Health, a related field, or equivalent degree.
  • Evidence of college level or university level teaching experience.
  • Record of success in modern pedagogical approaches (e.g. flipped classroom, experiential learning, team-based learning).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Potential for fostering equity and inclusion.
