Job Overview

As a Project Engineer Intern at W.E. O'Neil Construction, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience in construction management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process shop drawings and submittals to ensure conformance with schedule, design drawings, and specifications.
  • Assist project manager in creating the submittal schedule for the project and maintain it in the project management control program.
  • Prepare and update project schedules, comparing submittal schedules with material lead times to maintain project installation dates.
  • Write Requests for Information (RFI) in the project management control program, helping to resolve design conflicts with design consultants.
  • Maintain change proposal and change order logs and assist project managers in preparing and processing change orders.
  • Organize jobsite meetings for project managers, record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Prepare lists of long-lead materials required to construct the project and help superintendents incorporate them into project schedules.
  • Maintain on-site as-builts by posting them on Plan Grid.
  • Prepare close-out documentation, including as-builts, warranties, test reports, samples, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Prepare written punch lists for projects and distribute them to subcontractors with completion dates.
  • Assist project managers in obtaining permits at governing jurisdictions and final certificates of occupancy.


Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
