Position Overview:
The PKI Registration Specialist will directly report to the PKI HSDN Team Lead.

Your technical and engineering proficiency will be essential in supporting the program's Identity & Access Management architecture, infrastructure, capabilities, components, and standards.

In this role, you will be tasked with contributing to and executing RAO activities, managing PKI Reporting, conducting Trusted Agent training, reconciling CSP, supporting Smart Card Token operations, and overseeing the implementation and management of all program-wide PKI services while generating products that capture valuable insights.

This position requires close collaboration with core services architects, engineers, and service providers to advance the PKI/IAM Program modernization initiatives.

A willingness to cross-train is essential. Familiarity with DISA PKI Governance and CSP is preferred. The ability to effectively engage with customers and provide subject matter expertise for complex problem-solving is also a requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the HEITS PKI RA Team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Applying technical PKI principles, theories, practices, and new initiatives.
  • Developing solutions for technical challenges that lack straightforward pathways.
  • Collaborating with other teams to enhance systems within PKI activities.
  • Working independently to meet daily objectives that significantly impact operations and deliverables.
  • Interacting and communicating directly with customers, their teammates, and our internal project teams.
  • Participating in all designated meetings with customers, teams, and programs.
  • Tracking and maintaining Trusted Agent contact information.
  • Providing technical support to Trusted Agents via telephone and secure email.
  • Supporting certificate management software, including configuration, report development, and operational support.
  • Assessing PKI processes and systems, proposing solutions for operational improvements.
  • Conducting data analytics, merging data from various sources for reporting requirements.
  • Updating and maintaining documentation, including user and Agent SOPs and training materials.
  • Reviewing monthly updates to Scorecard reporting on user and smart card token issuance metrics.

To ensure essential services are delivered to the program community, the employee may be required to work outside regular hours as necessary.


Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2 – 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience. A Top Secret/SCI Clearance is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience in DISA PKI Audit support is preferred. First-hand experience as a Trusted Agent for DHS is advantageous. Candidates should hold and maintain an active DHS EOD and possess 3-6 years of relevant experience.

Ability to work with a dynamic IA team, managing multiple competing priorities, including project work, production support, and governance board meetings is essential.

Demonstrated ability to contribute, lead, and collaborate with the Security Services Manager in developing a growth and training program applicable to the Trusted Agent and Registration Agent roles.

Strong interpersonal skills for working closely with security services stakeholders, architects, and engineers to achieve project and program delivery milestones.

Proven critical thinking skills and innovative problem-solving abilities to enhance engineering team capabilities and address new challenges and requirements.
