Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and interpret patient medical documentation to accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Confirm insurance coverage and eligibility for medical services.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers.
- Conduct follow-ups on outstanding claims and denials.
- Address billing discrepancies and rectify coding inaccuracies.
- Maintain precise and current patient billing records.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and modifications in billing and coding regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and insurance entities to ensure prompt and accurate reimbursement.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with insurance billing protocols and regulations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
