POSITION: Maintenance Technician
STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of this role encompass the following:
- Assist in the configuration and specification of tools and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards and quality specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments in collaboration with supervisory personnel and EHS representatives.
- Oversee preliminary and final acceptance testing of workshop machinery in conjunction with Engineering and Procurement teams.
- Address warranty concerns in partnership with the Purchasing department.
- Educate staff on the operation of specific tools and equipment.
- Verify that EHS markings on tools and equipment meet regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain a database for preventive maintenance and calibration schedules in collaboration with Quality Assurance.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Cell Leads and Supervisors.
- Manage consumable inventory for each machine, including stock levels and supply requirements.
- Monitor equipment availability and plan maintenance outages in coordination with planning teams.
- Engage in the evaluation of new machinery to enhance production efficiency.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at process improvement and cost reduction, implementing necessary actions.
- Provide guidance to production staff in line with assigned responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education & Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of EHS regulatory training as specified by the organization's training matrix.
Skills & Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of workshop machinery and tools.
- More than 5 years of experience troubleshooting equipment failures.
- At least 5 years of experience in establishing equipment specifications and acceptance testing protocols.
- 5+ years of experience in developing operational procedures for workshop equipment.
- Experience in planning and executing preventive maintenance programs for over 5 years.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting risk assessments in a production setting.
- Solid understanding of EHS regulations and compliance codes for production machinery.
- Proven knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and crawl as necessary.
- Capability to reach and extend arms in various directions.
- Prolonged standing and walking may be required.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in grasping and performing repetitive motions with hands and fingers.
- Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as data analysis and equipment inspection.
- Exposure to noise levels that may require shouting to communicate.
- Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and potential hazards.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Potential for travel with short notice.
