Job Summary

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Cold Room (Day Room) and Vestibule, ensuring that product meets sizing specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a team member with other area personnel to support shift goals in the packaging of finished product, including tote dumping, length control, frozen waste, sanitation, food safety, and documentation necessary for record keeping.
  • Maintain current Powered Industrial Truck (Lift Truck) certification and ensure proper and safe operation of lift trucks and other material handling equipment at all times.
  • Direct Cold Room and Vestibule operations and personnel, and maintain area support to achieve operational goals.
  • Perform line checks as required or requested, including, but not limited to, tunnels and intermediate lengths, and ensure extra samples are taken for troubleshooting length problems.
  • Control blending (dumping) of bulk product to ensure a continuous level of line flow to reduce bulk inventory and meet quality specifications.
  • Ensure the proper handling of all tote tickets, such as bulk fill and bulk dump.
  • Monitor and control generation of bulk product within specified parameters.
  • Ensure proper utilization of grader screens to meet length requirements and to maximize recovery.
  • Inspect and monitor equipment operation and report any noises or conditions that could signal a breakdown to the appropriate personnel.
  • Able to work safely with and troubleshoot the Chopper.
  • Ensure necessary level of communication is maintained with the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6+ months related experience and/or training.
  • Must possess and maintain current powered industrial truck certification (card) through the Moses Lake Plant.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate materials in an efficient manner.
  • Abilities: Must have an acceptable safety record. Must have an acceptable attendance record. Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
