Guest Room Specialist

Position Overview: The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of guest accommodations and communal areas, collaborating closely with the Housekeeping Management Team to uphold brand standards and ensure an exceptional experience for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding service in all interactions with guests and clients, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards. Address guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints promptly, ensuring that corrective measures are implemented to achieve total guest satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned rooms or areas, following established protocols, which include:
- Making beds and dusting surfaces
- Vacuuming and sanitizing bathrooms
- Removing trash and ensuring proper disposal
Additional responsibilities may involve cleaning kitchen areas, including appliances and dishware. Notify supervisors upon completion of service to facilitate room availability for new guests. Report any rooms that cannot be serviced according to established guidelines.
When assigned to laundry duties, monitor supplies and equipment to ensure they are adequately stocked and functioning properly. Operate laundry machines in accordance with hotel standards and manufacturer instructions. Inspect soiled linens for damage or stains, and manage the folding and storage of clean linens while reporting any damages to supervisors.
Strive to minimize waste of supplies and amenities across all housekeeping operations. Assist with deep cleaning projects as required, and report any necessary repairs or safety concerns to supervisors. Handle lost and found items following established protocols.
Promote teamwork and quality service through effective communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all levels.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred, particularly in the extended stay sector. Proficiency in English is advantageous, with additional language skills considered beneficial. Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills are preferred.
Physical requirements include frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving throughout the facility, with the ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals is expected, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
