Biology Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Biology Teacher to join our team at ONC Boces Oneonta. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive biology instruction to high school or middle school students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement a curriculum that covers a range of biology topics, including cellular biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, and human anatomy.
  • Design lesson plans, conduct lab experiments, and utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and foster a passion for science.
  • Assess student progress, provide feedback, and prepare students for standardized tests and advanced coursework.
  • Collaborate with other educators and participate in professional development to stay current with educational best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
  • Valid NYS Certification in Biology.
  • Experience in a classroom setting and a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
