Job Title: Senior Plans Examiner/Inspector III

Join the City of Tualatin, OR team as a Senior Plans Examiner/Inspector III and play a critical role in ensuring building code compliance and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough plan reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with adopted building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, builders, and owners to resolve code-related issues and provide guidance on alternative methods or materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, sub-contractors, and owners, to ensure compliance with city regulations.
  • Provide training and education to staff and the public on building codes and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in building codes and regulations, and implement new procedures and guidelines as necessary.
Requirements:
  • 4 years of formal education, training, and/or experience in construction management, architecture, structural engineering, building design, construction inspection, and/or plan review.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience at the Building Construction Inspector II level.
  • Class A Certification (Oregon Building Codes Division) in the primary and secondary area of assignment.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
