Industrial Pretreatment Inspector

Job Summary:

OhioMeansJobs Lake County is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Pretreatment Inspector to join our team. As an Industrial Pretreatment Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the wastewater discharge by industrial facilities into publicly owned treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all industrial on-site facility inspections, including discharge records, MSDS files, process lines, chemical storage, and pretreatment units.
• Update industrial user inventory and FOG contributors through inspections and mailings.
• Perform all industrial sampling events, including the installation of automatic samplers in monitoring manholes at the industrial site for collection of flow, time-based composite samples, or grab samples.
• Perform collection system inspections on industrial and commercial regions of the collection system.
• Maintain field sampling, monitoring, and inspection records.
• Identify and analyze, through sampling and flow monitoring, sources and concentrations of pollutants determining the possible impact on the POTW and provide recommendations to effectively pre-treat the industrial waste stream.

Requirements:

• OEPA Wastewater Treatment Class I License
• Strong understanding of wastewater treatment and pretreatment processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Benefits:

• Competitive salary range: $18.25/hr. - $27.71/hr.
• Additional premium for OEPA Wastewater Treatment Class I License: $1.50/hr.
