Position Overview

The Mixologist is tasked with welcoming patrons, processing drink and food orders, and expertly blending ingredients such as spirits, mixers, and garnishes to create a variety of cocktails and beverages. This role also involves serving beer and other drinks, handling transactions, and communicating effectively with the management and serving staff regarding order times and any issues that may arise. Providing exceptional service to customers and colleagues is paramount. This position typically reports to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager, depending on local operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Welcomes guests and takes food and drink orders, offering insights about menu items and opportunities for upselling Adheres to recipes and product guidelines for beverage preparation Manages cash transactions and operates the cash register, ensuring compliance with established cash handling protocols Implements responsible alcohol service practices to prevent overconsumption and addresses any issues with intoxicated patrons Follows all customer service standards and cash handling policies Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area Complies with all safety and sanitation regulations

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Work Environment

Must meet the legal age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages A minimum of one year of relevant bartending experience is preferred, particularly in a high-volume or casual dining setting Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, along with their preparation and presentation, is essential Ability to engage with customers and coworkers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner Proficient in reading and understanding instructions, correspondence, and policy documents, as well as conversing comfortably with patrons Capability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Physical ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform job duties Experience in cash handling and customer service is advantageous Regularly engages hands in water and chemical solutions for cleaning purposes
