About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to adults and geriatrics, using an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care throughout the post-acute continuum. Key duties include:
- Providing psychiatric inpatient care, including rounding and new patient admissions
- Coordinating care with attendings, consults, referral sources, and hospital staff
- Assessing and managing inpatient census
- Performing physical exams, obtaining complete medical history, and recording findings
- Ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Interpreting and integrating data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan
- Ordering/administering medication and injections as deemed medically necessary
- Instructing patients regarding medications, post-admission care, and treatments
- Educating patients regarding health and illness prevention
- Collaborating with physicians in managing acute needs of patients
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- DEA license
- BLS & ACLS certified
- Current State license
