The role involves working in a MedSurg - Neuro unit with options for 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts. Typical hours are from 7 PM to 7 AM, including weekdays and every other weekend. Orientation sessions are conducted bi-weekly on Thursdays.
Patient Care and RequirementsPatient ratios are maintained at 1:4-5. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, along with necessary certifications such as BLS. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Options for 36 or 48-hour contracts are available, with every other weekend being a requirement. Clinicians may be floated within their scope to meet facility needs, and requests for blocked schedules will be considered.
Licensing and ComplianceA valid WV/Compact RN License is required, and candidates may submit with a pending RN license. It is essential to note that all personnel must receive a flu vaccine unless a documented allergy is provided. The flu season is observed from October 1st to March 31st, while the Covid vaccine is not mandatory.
Unit and Facility InformationThe unit comprises 26 beds, catering to patients with conditions such as CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injuries. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and a major teaching hospital, with a total of 855 staffed beds.
