Aquatics Director

As the Aquatics Director at the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality aquatics programs for youth through senior age groups, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all participants.

• Program Development: Create and implement aquatics programs that meet the needs of diverse age groups, while maintaining a focus on safety and quality.
• Program Administration: Manage the aquatics department's budget, maintain accurate records, and ensure staff certifications are up-to-date.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of aquatics staff, providing coaching, training, and support to ensure excellent service to members and guests.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience in pool management and operations, with a history of aquatics programming experience.
• YMCA certifications (or Red Cross equivalence) in Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Instructor, and YMCA Swimming Instructor; Trainer level certifications preferred.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
