- Collaborate with project managers to set project needs and requirements.
- Prepare mechanical equipment specifications, data sheets, and purchase recommendations.
- Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data interface with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning.
- Manage change orders and ensure effective project execution.
- Apply expert knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
- Develop and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
- Build relationships with clients, customers, and contractors to develop new business opportunities.
- Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to mechanical engineering practice.
- Ensure QA/QC process adherence and effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
- 7 years mechanical engineering experience, with DOE and EPC project experience preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
- Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
