As a Patient Service Representative at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in the front office management and operation of our physician practice. You will also be responsible for posting payments, balancing computer reports, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Accountabilities- Provide exceptional patient service, ensuring a positive experience for all patients and visitors.
- Manage patient registration, pre-certification, and charge capture processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Process payments, balance computer reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist patients with insurance claims, disability insurance benefits, home health care, medical equipment, and surgical care.
- Process benefit correspondence, signatures, and insurance forms to expedite payment of outstanding claims.
- Follow up with insurance companies to ensure coverage is approved and claims are paid as directed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including referral slips, medical authorizations, and insurance slips.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- No previous experience required.
- Associate's degree in a technical specialty program of 18 months minimum in length (preferred).
- Multi-specialty group practice setting experience (preferred).
- Basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding (preferred).
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is a fast-paced, dynamic setting with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
