About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Therapy team at Fetch Veterinary. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering radiation treatment to pets with various types of cancer.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for radiation therapy procedures, ensuring seamless integration with computer software systems.
  • Prepare patients for radiation therapy by inserting intravenous catheters, administering induction agents, performing intubation, and providing general anesthesia.
  • Perform patient positioning and immobilization during radiation therapy sessions, ensuring accurate and precise treatment delivery.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients during treatment, providing compassionate care and support throughout the process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping of treatment plans and patient progress, ensuring seamless communication with veterinarians and other team members.
  • Provide comfort and support to patients and their owners during treatment, fostering a positive and empathetic experience.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other team members to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes, driving exceptional results in radiation oncology.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the radiation therapy area, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT or LVT) preferred.
  • Experience working in a veterinary radiation therapy setting highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and equipment.
  • Proficient in performing intravenous catheter placement, blood draws, intubation, and monitoring during general anesthesia.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
