Position Overview

The role entails providing engineering and consultancy services for electrical substations, catering to both domestic and international clients. The primary focus is on generating deliverables related to electrical protection, control systems, and physical layout designs. Projects vary in scale and complexity, ranging from minor upgrades to extensive transmission initiatives. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing the resilience, reliability, and economic efficiency of the electrical grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and development of high voltage (13kV-500kV) electrical substations.
  • Lead proposal preparation and scope definition, including conceptual designs and execution strategies.
  • Generate engineering cost estimates and project timelines.
  • Conduct physical substation design, including site layouts, plans, sections, grounding, lightning protection, control building configurations, and auxiliary power systems.
  • Execute protection and control design, encompassing panel configurations, one-line diagrams, AC schematics, and relay panel wiring.
  • Compile calculations and reports for engineering assessments (grounding, lightning protection, load studies, etc.).
  • Draft equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.).
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Engage regularly with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality reviews of designs and engineering work.
  • Provide on-site support during construction phases.
  • Assist in business development and marketing strategies.
  • Participate in relay settings, 3D/intelligent design, or technical committee activities as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (a master's degree may substitute for one year of experience).
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE/ANSI Standards.
  • Strong preference for candidates with:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adeptness in addressing complex issues requiring innovative solutions.

This range is influenced by various factors, including education, qualifications, prior experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
