- Perform terminal room sterilization in accordance with OSHA standards, standard precautions, and departmental policy, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with positioning and prepping of patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
- Safely transfer and transport patients pre-operatively, intraoperatively, and post-operatively, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Clean and maintain equipment, returning it to proper storage areas, and restock supplies as needed.
- Maintain the male and female dressing area, holding area, and scrub sink area stock, ensuring a well-organized and efficient workspace.
- Perform general housekeeping duties daily, contributing to a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Set up special tables and equipment, demonstrating proficiency and attention to detail.
This role requires the use of both hands and all fingers, with the ability to grip, perform speed work, and manipulate equipment with precision. Additionally, the position demands:
- Vision and hearing for distances of up to twenty (20) feet.
- Depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic colors.
- Frequent long or irregular work hours, rotating shifts, and exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Walking on hard surfaces, being near moving equipment, and changes in temperature, humidity, and exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, and chemicals.
