Job Description

At Medtronic, we are committed to alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life. As a Project Specialist in our Healthcare Research and Development team, you will play a critical role in designing, executing, and disseminating HEOR studies to meet the business evidence strategy needs in the Coronary Renal Denervation (CRDN) Operating Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise and collaborate with CRDN cross-functional teams on Real World Evidence generation strategies, research methods, study design, and research standards with Real World Data.
  • Design and implement observational and economic research studies that fulfill evidence gaps for clinical and/or pre-clinical product portfolio decisions, marketing, regulatory agency submissions, and product reimbursement strategies.
  • Compare and evaluate the value of products and therapies with clinical, economic, and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies, registries, observational studies, modeling, surveys, and meta-analysis.
  • Provide hands-on support to in-house HEOR studies by design and conduct scientifically rigorous research.
  • Author and document all studies related files by complying with internal SOPs and best practices.
  • Develop scientific communication plans and outputs, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Develop interactive visual displays of data using Tableau or other platforms to create user-friendly outputs and tools.
  • Conduct a range of ad hoc projects and other tasks as needed to support missions of HEOR function.
  • Develop country-specific evidence to meet requirements for optimal reimbursement coverage and usage.
  • Work closely with market access to help develop strategies and pricing programs and standardize best practices.
  • Direct the work of vendors and outside researchers to accomplish the goals of the organization with respect to data sources, research studies, and development of economic models and tools.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and advice to other HEOR staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Deep subject matter expertise in real-world data (EHR, claims, registry data) and retrospective data analysis methods.
  • Experience and familiarity with literature systematic review and meta-analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical packages such as SAS, R, and/or SQL.
  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications (abstract, manuscript).
  • Ability to train, mentor, and supervise other HEOR staff.
  • Knowledge and application of machine learning methodology (supervised, unsupervised learning, deep learning) in biomedical research or healthcare setting.
  • Great project management skills.
  • Experience and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Overall knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement models both within the USA and globally is desired.
