  • We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Para Educator in the Special Education department of Boone County Schools.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, patience, and a passion for supporting students with special needs. As a Para Educator, you will work closely with teachers to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, providing one-on-one support to students and assisting with daily tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting teachers with lesson planning and implementation
  2. Providing emotional support to students, helping them build confidence and self-esteem
  3. Accommodating students with physical or cognitive disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being
  4. Maintaining accurate records of student progress and reporting back to teachers
  5. Fostering positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to lift and move students safely
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
