Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Trauma Recovery Center team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide trauma-informed assessment, psychotherapy, and case management services to survivors of trauma and violent crime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct clinical intakes for new clients using a trauma-informed approach and identify service needs when appropriate.
  • Assess presenting problems, psychosocial history, mental status, risk assessment, and DSM-5 diagnoses.
  • Provide short-term trauma-informed evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy, as needed crisis intervention, comprehensive case management, and multidisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Develop a comprehensive treatment and service plan for each client, integrating knowledge from a wide range of human service resources.
  • Facilitate coordination of services among various agencies, advocate for and link clients to needed services, and help clients gain eligibility for Social Security Disability, Crime Victim Compensation, and other socioeconomic support resources.
Supervision, Training, and Program Development:
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff and trainees.
  • Take the lead in preparing, planning, and conducting in-service trainings and case conferences.
  • Assist in organizing and co-teaching a didactic Trauma Seminar on the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic trauma in underserved populations, using evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct community presentations on the assessment and treatment of trauma.
  • Take the lead in working with the Director on program development and implementing innovative models of care.
Requirements:
  • Fully licensed, doctoral-prepared clinical psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.)
  • Pre-doctoral internship and Doctoral Program must have been APA accredited
  • A minimum of one year experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred (including during training)
  • Must have training/specialization with trauma-informed care/trauma populations
  • Must possess effective writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Research design and grant writing experience preferred
  • Programmatic planning experience preferred
