About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer who is proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry-standard software. You will be responsible for completing site/civil design for commercial and residential developments from concept/study phases through construction documents, including grading, utilities, drainage, storm water management, sediment and erosion control, permitting, and regulatory approval.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction documents (CD) phases for planning site plan approval.
  • Review and interpret local, state, and federal ordinances, regulations, and laws regarding proposed projects to ensure design compliance and complete required documentation and applications needed to obtain approvals and permits.
  • Work with a team of engineers and architects to create complete development plans.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical and mathematical skills to complete various design elements for site/civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry-standard software.
  • Ability to learn and use EPA SWMM, Autodesk, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, or other similar hydraulic modeling software.
  • Ability to learn and use Infraworks or similar 3D rendering software.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of site facilities and other structures.
  • The ability to understand ideas presented in verbal or written manner and act on them.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to regularly work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills; the ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively in written and verbal forms.
