ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT


WHAT IS THE ROLE? Under the mentorship of a senior solutions architect, the enterprise solutions architect engages in the design and execution of both on-premises and cloud-based applications.

Works collaboratively with vendors, external partners, and various teams across the organization to ensure cohesive project delivery.

Engages with business users and stakeholders to grasp the business context and requirements; employs established agile methodologies to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.

Integrates security best practices into software development, fostering a culture of secure coding throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Participates in proof of concepts (POCs); recommends coding best practices, reviews designs and code, and mentors junior developers. Aims to fulfill compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the architecture and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.

Write high-quality code with a focus on automated testing and validation.

Engage in POCs to assess technologies, design patterns, vendor solutions, and products.

Support and guide team members in the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines for both on-premises and cloud environments.

Collaborate with team members to articulate the technical and functional requirements of the business.

Work alongside various enterprise-wide teams to deliver innovative capabilities.

Identify opportunities to streamline code, existing architectures, and vendor dependencies.

Propose rationalization opportunities across the application and systems portfolio.

Design and develop APIs for omni-channel experiences, processes, and system integrations.

Participate in performance testing and provide architectural recommendations for enhancements.

Prepare design, development, and architectural specifications based on non-functional requirements (NFRs).

Create conceptual and physical solution design artifacts.

Deliver artifacts that support the SDLC.

Analyze and develop data models, logical database designs, and data definitions.

Adhere to architectural standards and established methodologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise conceptual architecture.

Evaluate application software packages and provide recommendations to management.

Collaborate with colleagues in new product evaluations, testing, and pilot programs.

Review code and suggest refactoring at both the code and design levels.

Advise on secure coding practices.

Participate in requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs) for software and technology assessments.

Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 6+ years in software development, including front-end, middle-tier, and back-end technologies.

At least 4 years in solution architecture.

Skills and Expertise:

Minimum of 3 years in cloud development (Azure preferred). Certification is a plus.

At least 2 years in microservices architecture.

Minimum of 2 years designing REST APIs.

Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., AKS/Docker) is advantageous.

At least 2 years in database design and data modeling (SQL and NoSQL preferred).

Minimum of 2 years integrating security into application architecture.

Experience in a fully DevOps-enabled environment.

Proficient in developing coding standards and patterns.

Experience in designing and implementing large applications, including modern web, mobile, and integration platforms (cloud/on-premises).

Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum, XP, FDD, TDD, and SAFe.

Enterprise experience with API management tools, DevOps, server infrastructure, network infrastructure, caching strategies, information security, and database technologies.

Proven ability to develop alternative solution approaches and make pragmatic trade-offs.

Demonstrated success in optimizing development activities with a focus on DevOps and automation.

Ability to document solution designs using various methodologies (e.g., UML).

Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

Capacity to quickly learn new technologies and assess their applicability in specific business contexts through POCs and evaluations.

Experience in reviewing code and recommending refactorings for performance, quality, maintainability, and other attributes.

Expertise in designing APIs, ensuring scalability and security, and integrating with internal and external systems.

Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.

Compensation:
Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
