Job Overview

The National Criminal Justice Association is seeking a skilled Financial Grant Management Specialist to join its team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective management of federal grants from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime and the Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting functions for VOCA Center programs within the agency, overseeing budgets totaling over $6 million.
  • Evaluate and monitor program budgets, providing necessary information to senior leadership.
  • Design and implement improved accounting systems to properly monitor budgets and ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience working in a professional setting (commensurate work experience can substitute for a formal degree).
  • 5 years of experience in financial grant management or accounting for federal grants from the U.S. DOJ, preferably VOCA.
  • Bookkeeping and data entry experience; including experience with QuickBooks and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of federal grant processes and requirements.

This position supports two multi-year cooperative agreements from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime and the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance. Continuation of this position, beyond the award cycle, is contingent upon performance and the ability to obtain future funding for these projects.
