Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Greet guests warmly and provide a pleasant and comfortable dining experience, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a current knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to effectively describe selection options and answer guest questions.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with culinary staff, cocktail/host, and restaurant manager to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Order Management: Timely and accurately input guest orders into the system, ensuring that the kitchen prepares orders in a manner that maintains proper pace of service.
  • Service Delivery: Deliver drink and food orders to tables in a comfortable and pleasant manner, ensuring that guests receive their orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Clearing and Cleaning: Evaluate the dining status of guests to ensure the proper timing of clearing used china, glass, and silver, and service of following courses.
  • Final Check: Present the final check in a pleasant and friendly manner, with instructions on how the check will be handled.
  • Warm Farewell: Provide a warm farewell and invite guests to return again soon.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Reporting and Administration: Complete required reports and paperwork, including closing out of registers after each shift, as directed by supervisor.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior restaurant, hotel, or equivalent guest service experience preferred. Food server experience required, preferably in a fine dining food and beverage environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to engage in friendly, polite conversation, even if guests become upset. Must speak clearly and understandably and write legibly.
