About the role at Ben Aris:
As an Electrical Systems Specialist in our Reliability Engineering team, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our refinery's electrical systems and equipment.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is a senior-level role that requires a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on reliability improvements, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of the refinery's electrical systems and equipment (including low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment).
  • Investigate electrical equipment failures and recommend actions to enhance system and equipment reliability.
  • Develop electrical scope, engineering packages, and define preventive maintenance to be performed for turnarounds and scheduled shutdowns.
  • Develop electrical equipment specifications and associated reliability improvements/upgrade plans for that equipment.
  • Review test data to evaluate health of electrical equipment, suitability for service, and make repair/replacement recommendations.
  • Provide technical support as needed to a 24/7 facility.
  • Provide technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects and Management of Change packages.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance and operating procedures for electrical equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of refinery/industrial or related experience including experience and knowledge with medium voltage equipment required.
  • Ability to comprehend electrical drawings (one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, motor control schematics, etc.) required.
  • Experience in power system analysis, fault analysis, load flow, coordination, and arc-flash analysis.
  • Experience using electrical analysis software (EasyPower, SKM, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in programming microprocessor relays (SEL, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, and management and with internal customers as well as suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal form for the purpose of instructing others in technical matters and obtaining cooperation from various personnel.
  • Understanding in the operation and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment, motors, motor starters, breakers, relay protection devices, transformers, and switchgear.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth and professional development.
