About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Security Technician to join our team at Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital. As a Security Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Assist with patient management in crisis situations, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the RN supervisor, including taking and recording vital signs, communicating changes in patient condition, and writing reports of daily activities and irregularities.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
  • Two (2) years of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
  • Successful completion of CPI/NCI within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with restraining procedures.
