Job Title: 3D Plant Designer

We are seeking a skilled Piping Designer to contribute to the development of innovative plant designs and detailed engineering drawings.

Position Overview:

This is an onsite position that requires collaboration and precision, with a focus on creating comprehensive plant designs and detailed engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop 3D models of equipment and structures to produce comprehensive plant designs.
  • Generate orthographic and isometric drawings, material take-offs (MTOs), arrangement details, and location plans.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to support projects for operating facilities, creating layouts and detailed drawings for equipment, including plan views, sections, and elevations.
  • Assist in proposal work by developing conceptual plant layouts and generating orthographic views.
  • Review and correct vendor drawings, ensuring accuracy and coordinating submittals as directed.
  • Adhere to established CAD standards and guidelines specific to the industrial gases industry.
  • Collaborate with various departments and workgroups as required.
  • Participate in departmental training programs, seminars, and online training sessions.
Requirements:
  • A two-year degree in engineering or drafting technology from a recognized technical institute is required.
  • A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or relevant coursework is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CADWORKS 3D, AutoCAD, or BricsCAD design software is essential.
  • Experience with cryogenic piping and working within the Industrial Gases Industry is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of pipe stress analysis and pipe supports.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, working across multiple disciplines.
