Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a key member of our Imaging Services department, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and execute MRI safety concepts to maintain magnet safety for patients, guests, self, and fellow caregivers.
  • Select appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques to ensure clinical exams are of good quality, in coordination with the radiologist.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order identification, and prepares the patient appropriately for the exam.
  • Perform MRI examinations according to system and department standard protocols.
  • Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrates appropriate anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.
  • Administer contrast and medication inherent to MRI examination, under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician.
  • Maintain competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
  • Follow Intermountain policy and procedure, including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record workflows.
Requirements
  • ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, or ARRT(R) certification with at least 1 year full-time experience in MRI.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science.
Work Environment

This role requires frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, as well as manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment. The ability to lift and transfer patients, and to navigate crowded and busy rooms, is also required.
