Assistant General Manager Job Description

The Assistant General Manager plays a vital role in mirroring the company's vision and direction, providing positive communication and direction throughout the shift. This position requires strong leaders who understand our Standards and hold team members accountable to those Standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shift Operations: Lead shifts, focusing on the guest experience, controlling labor, minimizing food waste, recipe accuracy, speed, and steps of service, cleanliness, and productivity.
  • Schedule Writing: Become proficient in forecasting and scheduling to meet labor expectations while ensuring great guest experiences.
  • Training: Help coordinate training with Certified Trainers and assist the General Manager in following up with final validations.
  • Interviewing and Hiring: Assist General Managers with first interviews, utilizing the interview questionnaire, and provide feedback concerning candidates.
  • Cash Handling and Deposits: Responsible for all deposits, drawer counts, and petty cash purchases during shifts.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Work with General Managers to become proficient in understanding pars and accurate ordering, as well as mastering accurate inventory.
  • Margins: Have a good knowledge of Food, Labor, and Supply costs and work to keep margins at budget.
  • Unit Operations: Develop knowledge of unit operations, including R&M, Budgeting, Goal Setting, Personnel development, and P&L knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 15-20 lbs for inventory and stocking.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers.
  • Must agree to a background and credit check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a Manager's Food Safety Certificate.
  • Bilingual a plus.
