Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Personal Care and Support: Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed.
  • Assist with Daily Activities: Accompany individuals to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings, promoting socialization and community integration.
  • Support Independent Living Skills: Assist individuals with budgeting, shopping, cooking, and other daily living skills, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Encourage Recreational Activities: Support individuals in engaging in recreational activities, such as hobbies, sports, or other interests, promoting physical and mental well-being.
  • Document Progress and Needs: Maintain accurate and detailed records of individual progress, needs, and goals, ensuring effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Positive Attitude and Compassion: Demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities, with a positive and empathetic attitude.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and be comfortable driving a large van.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
