Locum Physician Opportunity

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Hematology and Oncology physician for locum tenens coverage in Putnam, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing patients with hematological and oncological conditions, including follow-ups, new patient consultations, and inpatient consults.
The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team, including MDs, RNs, and APPs, to provide high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing 15-20 patients per day, with a commitment of 2-3 days per week. Light on-call duties are required every third week.
The practice is well-supported, with a robust team including a Nurse Manager, certified pharmacists, a tumor board program, and an infusion clinic. Board certification is preferred but not required, and an active Connecticut license is preferred although candidates needing a license will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage 15-20 patients per day, including follow-ups, new patient consultations, and inpatient consults
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
- Manage light on-call duties every third week
- Meet the needs of a busy outpatient practice with inpatient consults and follow-ups
Requirements:
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology (preferred but not required)
- Active Connecticut license (preferred although candidates needing a license will be considered)
- 2-3 years of experience in Hematology and Oncology (required)
