About the Role

Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking highly motivated college students for the Summer 2025 Internship program to work in Dallas, TX, on various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn about managing project budgets, controlling expenditures, and coordinating owner and subcontractor billings.
  • Understand Safety and Quality Control programs and coordinate actions to address problems.
  • Learn company procedures, correspondence processes, and handling with the Office Manager in accordance with the Operations Manual.
  • Review and process submittal data and shop drawings.
  • Coordinate submittals, deliveries, and other project schedule-related tasks with the Superintendent.
  • Monitor and review weekly and monthly status reports, subcontractor meeting minutes, change orders, and other project-related documents.
  • Understand change documents and change proposal requests for price review.
  • May accompany Project Engineers to meetings with architects and owner representatives to understand information required by owners, necessary progress reports, and summaries.
  • Learn how changes, clarifications, directives, RFIs, and other project-related updates are coordinated with company supervision and subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Maintain RFI logs and change request logs.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Construction Management program.
  • Prior commercial construction internships or work experience are highly desirable but not required.
  • Able to develop new skills and knowledge quickly.
  • Participate in training, seminars, task team meetings, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate expanding knowledge of construction details about miscellaneous metals, casework, doors, specialties, radiation protection, and other related areas.
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications.
  • Good self-organizational and management skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
