\rAbout the Role
\rThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work as an Electroencephalographic Specialist in our state-of-the-art EEG department.
\rAs an Electroencephalographic Specialist at Prisma Health, you will be responsible for performing quality EEGs, calibrating equipment, and communicating with physicians and team members to ensure seamless patient care.
\rKey Responsibilities

- Perform high-quality EEGs, including awake and asleep studies, video EEGs, cerebral silence, photic stimulation, portable EEGs, and other procedures within the department.\r
- Calibrate and evaluate EEG instruments to achieve top-quality recordings, emphasizing sensitivity, time axis, and mechanical/electrical baselines.\r
- Operate EEG equipment according to the 10-20 system outlined by ACNS and Medical Director guidelines, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.\r
- Demonstrate basic understanding of EEG interpretation and communicate findings effectively with healthcare professionals.\r
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on EEG through ongoing education and share expertise with colleagues to enhance departmental performance.\r
Requirements
\r- \r
- BLS certification is required. Completion of a formal neurodiagnostic program is preferred but not necessary.\r
- No previous experience is required, but neurodiagnostic experience is advantageous.\r
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.\r
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.\r
